I am a current Business Owner here in Mount Vernon with our headquarters located just across from Pine Square. My professional experience ranges from startups I helped successfully sell (AdMetrica) to enterprise technology relationships while at Adobe wherein I was directly responsible for clients such as Microsoft, Nordstrom, Nintendo, WGU, University of Phoenix, SAP Concur, T-Mobile, and Realtor.com. I bring practical experience in what it takes to succeed at every level of business in modern America, what hiring panels are seeking, and how to navigate contracts and negotiations.
Education
Sedro-Woolley High School Graduate
Skagit Valley College
I dropped out of Skagit Valley College and went all in on my first startup - the results of which are, at least in part, luck.
My immediate family includes members with PhDs, CPAs, chemical engineers, IRS agents, MDs, and (former) MVHS Math Teachers. My lack of a formal degree has, at times, made my professional journey harder. I have also borne witness to people holding the highest levels of education being unemployable and dissatisfied. I bring a holistic view of what the purpose and outcomes of education are in evaluating how we measure success for our schools and students.
Community Service
Eagle Scout Project - Walking track at Clear Lake Elementary School
Jefferson Elementary School Parent Group President
Jefferson Elementary Playground Remodel - Point of Light Grant
I have listed community service that has directly impacted our schools. You can read about the Jefferson Elementary Playground Remodel Project here and here. This project would not have be possible without the help of my wife Emily Stewart, and our friends and fellow parents (including but not limited to): Sarah Garrison, Jenna Orlowski, Kelly Quinn, Travis Garrison, Sean Quinn, and the man who kicked it all off by applying for a grant - Mr. Andy Bishop.
